Catching Up

Hello Everyone,

Well Camp season has started and boy has it hit hard! Please pray for us! Everyone is exhausted and working some very long hours. I am going to post pictures soon about a couple of things that have happened this month. The first thing is at the first of the month on the 6th I went to Dallas to see George Strait and Reba McEntire in concert at the new Dallas Cowboy Stadium. It was wonderful. Since I was a little kid I have loved these two singers. This was my Birthday present from my wonderful parents this year and it was so worth the wait! While in Dallas I also got to go Six Flags with my Sister and her family as well as my Mom. I am hoping to go back and go again sometime it was a lot of fun.

The next couple of thing that have happened are the different camps that we have had. The first week was Camp New Dawn, MDA, and Camp Villa (children who are visually impaired). I have a lot of pictures that a friend of mine took with my camera at the New Dawn Dance. The next camp was One Way 8th and 9th. We faced a few challenges but we were able to survive the week. This weekend we have Sky Camp (children who are grieving the loss of a parent/grandparent) and Camp Amistad (children who are burn victims). Coming up next week is One Way 10th, 11th, and 12th and the Diabetic Camp (children with diabetes). This next week is our heaviest week of the summer. These are the 2 biggest camps for the Ceta Canyon and Ceta Glen sides of the summer and they run the same week.

On Thursday I am heading to our family reunion for the weekend and I am excited for the break. It is like a mini vacation in the middle of summer and it is so nice!

Something else that happened was I was summoned for Jury Duty but after a message from me and a call from my camp director they are being very nice and letting me wait till after summer to report. After hearing where I worked and my responsibilities the lady was very nice and didn't want to come and cook in the kitchen for groups of 500 so she let me wait till September 20th at the earliest. This was a very poor time of the year for me and I was flipping out.

My Mom has also had her 65th Birthday on the 17th! Happy Birthday Mom (I have finally gotten your card in the mail sorry it is late)!

Well that is a summery of what has been happening here at camp and with life. I will post some pictures of the Concert and of the New Dawn Dance soon. May the Lord bless yall. Take Care

Troubles Sleeping

It is almost 5am and I am wide awake with so much going through my mind and I decided to go ahead and take out this time to blog before I get full swing into summer and don't have time. I have been praying for about a half an hour to 45 minutes and I just want to share with you prayer concerns as I am entering into summer here at Ceta.

-Please pray for our summer staff as they work and live with each other everyday. My roommate and I do really well but I think it is because we have our own rooms to go to and we are just really good friends but the rest of summer staff just live in a cubical with another person and it can be up to 3 others. I think we just have 2 to a room currently but as we add summer staff that can change to 3 or 4 to a room. When we room our staff we room them by department because of the hours we work and that is why the both literally work and live together. Kitchen starts as early as 5:30am and everyone else starts at 8am.

-Pray for me and all the responsibility I have this summer. I am trying to juggle a lot and that is honestly why I am having a hard time sleeping. I am thinking of everything that needs to be finished today and when I am going to do it as head cook running the meals, and training all the new people today. Please pray for me to know and figure out when to do everything at the appropriate time. I have certain things that have to be done by specific times of the day as well as some thing that need to be done by specific days. The load of responsibility this year is overwhelming for me. Please pray that I won't be a disappointment to my bosses and even those under me as I am in a leadership roll that I haven't been in before with camp.

-Pray for our staffing. We are short handed still in the kitchen. We are still short by about 5 people and summer is here. We are still waiting and praying for not just applications but also people who would be good for camp specifically.

-Pray for our new Food Service Director that is coming in tomorrow evening and will be starting on Wednesday. Pray that he will be a quick learner. I would like to go to our family reunion at the end of the month but it will depend on how everyone is doing with their new jobs and more specifically him.

-Please pray for a mission team that 2 of my friends are on that are going to India. It is a team of 9 people and they are going to be gone from June 9th through the 24th. My friends are Gwen and Jane. They are going to be going to provide training and supplies for the teachers there. They will be doing workshops and ministering to those they come into contact with through the gift the Lord has provided for them in being teachers.

-Pray for my friends Logan and Daryl-Ann as they are adjusting to life in China as missionaries (they have a blog on my list if you would like to check it out).

-Please pray for my roommate that she will be able to get settled in alright tomorrow. She is moving in tomorrow afternoon. Pray for me to readjust to having a roommate again after being on my own since last summer.

-Please be praying because there may be another person living here this summer. I will find out by tomorrow the plans for her. I have been working really hard to prepare that 3rd room for her just in case because it was more of a storage unit for me with a bed in it. There is still some work to be done but not much and can be done when she makes a decision on if she wants to live here or not.

-Please pray for my own personal time with the Lord. I am actually going to be having some time after finishing with this. This is a time of the year that is very distracting for me and I tend to struggle with balancing my life because work takes up so much time and this year it is probably going to be more than normal because of all the change/responsibility. With change comes adjustments and finding the balance of being exhausted, spending time with my roommate, going to church, work, and having that time all need to find their balance which I never seem to be able to do.

-Please pray for me and my family for safe travels. My sister and her family are leaving for Dallas on the 3rd and my mom and me (possibly dad too) are leaving for Dallas on the 5th (I will be heading to my parents after work on the 4th). We are all coming back I believe on the 7th (for sure I will be).

-Please pray for my car to be repaired quickly after I return from Dallas. I am planning to to drop it off on Sunday the 7th when I get home and the guy at the body shop said it would take 3-4 days to repair the damage. If you don't know what I am talking about there are some older posts about what happened.

-Please pray that I would walk by faith trusting the Lord that He is in control. Obviously I am struggling seeing that I am not able to sleep currently.

I am sorry if this is really long but these are all the things running through my mind and heart this morning as I prepare to go to work and minister to all that the Lord places in my path not only today but all summer. When people spend time with me I want them to walk away encouraged and getting a glimpse of Christ's love for them. I want them to have spent some time not with me but with Christ who lives in me. I desire to reflect Christ in their lives.

Well I better let yall go. May the Lord bless and keep you as you serve Him. I miss yall and love you very much!
